What we do?
In addition to our annual children’s recuperative holiday programme each year CCA  provides consignments of Medical and Humanitarian Aid to the devastated regions of Belarus and Ukraine.

The Medical Aid supports Hospitals such as No.1 & No.4  Hospitals in Minsk where children from throughout Belarus are sent for treatment of Chernobyl related diseases and the Maternity Hospital in Mozyr. We have also provided medical training programmes in Northern Ireland for doctors and nurses from Belarus.

The Humanitarian Aid supports villages, local organisations, orphanages & schools in Belarus and Ukraine, each year we hope to have a special April Project which further benefits the regions of Belarus and the Ukraine and  we also recuperate children within Belarus/Ukraine at sanatoriums in the clean areas of the countries, this enables us to recuperate children who cannot get the required permissions to leave their country.

From our offices in Belarus & Ukraine our local charity co-ordinators attend to all documentation requirements for Belarus and Ukraine.

What can YOU do?
By being aware of the on-going needs of the people of Belarus and Ukraine, especially the children who suffer through no fault of their own from the many side-effects of radiation.
YOU can enable us to help them in the following ways:-
  • By making others aware of the situation.
  • By contributing to our collections.
  • By joining an existing local support group or by forming a new support group in your own area.
  • By becoming a host parent or standby host parent.

PLEASE REMEMBER:

“No one stands as tall as when they stoop to help a child.”

  1. Anthony Brady says:

    Michael – Hello!

Since contacting you initially, I have attended a July Monthly Meeting of the Omagh Group. From there I went on a bus trip to Portglenone. Last Saturday evening I joined the Omagh Group and their hosted children at a B-b-Q in Dromore. I have completed the print & image mastering, ISBN registration & Bar coding protocols for a book/let which I plan to retail at £4.50. per copy. All proceeds to go towards Fermanagh & Omagh Groups. This week The National Trust & Lord Belmore received pre-print copies and are more than satisfied that my project should proceed.

To print an initial run of 500 copies by Ecclesville Printing Services, Fintona, Co. Tyrone, I need to find a benefactor to meet the production costs of £825.00. I am working on this as a priority. I have yet to work out a marketing strategy: I met with the Manager of The NI Tourist Office in Enniskillen recently. She looked through the “dummy” copy and helped me price it realistically. No problem about display but the mechanics of sale were not specified. My local Writers Association reckon Easons will carry the book. Basically, I want to sell the whole 500 copies and hand over the proceeds in one go to Chernobyl Children Appeal without lumbering the organisation with hawking the product around. That’s how things are going so far Michael. Best Regards. Tony Brady.
